Field Marshalls
Guidelines
Ÿ
Field
Marshalls are mandatory for all teams.
Ÿ
Each team
will designate one parent volunteer during each one of their games
Ÿ
Volunteers
are to report to the canteen
before their game to sign in and pick up a walkie talkie and an orange vest
Ÿ
The team
parent or coach will be responsible for assigning one parent as field
marshall for each game. If a
parent cannot fulfill their field marshall duty for a specific game, then
it is that parent’s responsibility to find a replacement or to switch
games with another parent.
Ÿ
There will
be a board member on duty each game day for assistance
Responsibilities
Ÿ
While you
are watching your child’s game, observe parents and coaches for
inappropriate behavior that violates the coaches code of conduct at the
canteen
Ÿ
Make sure
parents & spectators are sitting on the opposite side of the field from
the coach & player
Ÿ
If you see a
pet, remind parents/spectators that pets are not allowed at any soccer
event.
Ÿ
If you
observe any inappropriate behavior or other violations of the codes of
conduct, contact the board member on duty.
Board members are on duty to handle any problems or issues that
should arise.
Ÿ
If a parent
or coach is ejected from a game by a referee, alert the board member on
duty
Responsibilities Do Not Include
Ÿ
Field
marshalls do not have authority over the referees. Referee calls stand and are not cause for debate by parents,
coaches, and field marshalls.
Ÿ
Field
marshalls cannot eject a parent, coach, or player from the game.
In a case where there is not a referee present, contact the board
member on duty and alert them to any problems, violations or issues the may
need attention.
Parents,
if you have any question, don’t hesitate to use your walkie talkies to
contact the board member on duty. Our
intentions are to make the players, coaches, parents, and spectators soccer
experience fun, safe, and enjoyable.
